There's no tutorial to read (but there is one to play). You learn one new expression each time the pace steps up — so you get more contorted exactly as the run gets more frantic.

The clip is the trophy
Gurn isn't just a runner. It's a funny-clip generator that happens to be a runner. The output is a split-screen of your face next to the game, and that's the thing worth keeping.
- Auto-trimmed. The breather rhythm chops every run into postable, TikTok-sized chunks. You don't edit anything.
- Your sound or ours. Export with the game's deadpan voice and SFX, or muted so you can score it yourself.
- Sharing is never gated. Free clips carry a small Gurn mark; cosmetics can dress them up. Either way, you can always share.
Looks that show up in your clips
Earn outfits, trails, and finales with coins you rack up playing — a funnier mug makes a funnier clip. None of it touches your rank. Cosmetics are cosmetics; the leaderboard stays honest.

- Does my face data get stored or sent anywhere?
- No. The face tracking runs entirely on your device using Apple's TrueDepth camera — Gurn never stores or transmits any face or depth data. The clip Gurn records is an ordinary video that stays on your phone until you choose to share it. Nothing leaves the device unless you tap share.
- What do I need to play?
- An iPhone with a TrueDepth (Face ID) camera — that's iPhone X and newer. The whole game is built around that camera, so it's iPhone-only at launch. iPad and Android aren't on the v1 list.
- How much does it cost?
- Free to download and play. Optional cosmetics and clip-effect packs make your clips funnier — and nothing you can buy touches your rank. There is no subscription.
- Can I buy my way up the leaderboard?
- No, and you never will because that's lame and not fun. Nothing purchasable touches your rank — no paid revives, no pay-to-win, nothing. Cosmetics make your clips funnier; they don't make your runs faster. Leaderboard integrity is the whole point of competing, so it's non-negotiable.
- I can't make some of those faces. Am I locked out?
- No. There's a full touch-control mode with its own leaderboards, so you can play the whole game without your face at all. The aim is for everyone to be able to play and get a clip.
