Changelog
What's new in Gurn — newest first.
1.0.4 Beat the Daily TBD
- The Daily is a real challenge now — and you can actually finish it. Every day is a set gauntlet, same course for everyone. Clear the last stage and you WIN — a victory dance, straight into your clip. No more running forever; now there's a finish line to chase.
- Snacks. Tongue-grab roadside food to win a heart back — a cushion for the rough patches, and the Daily always keeps one within reach.
- Fewer cheap deaths. A stage now lets you clear its last obstacle before the breather, so you never resume face-first into one — and the old phantom hits (resuming over a pit, a hurdle that only caught your toes) are gone.
- Go beat today's Daily.
1.0.3 Clips, kept Jul 14, 2026
- Clips that used to slip away now save. If a run ever ended on "couldn't prepare the clip" and then never turned up — that's fixed. Long runs, interrupted runs, all of it.
- Set the phone down mid-run? Gurn pauses the recording while it can't see your face and picks back up when you're back — no dead air in the clip, no freezing on the death screen.
- You choose how much room your clips get: Settings → Clip storage, 512 MB to 5 GB. Gurn keeps the newest, always keeps your best and your starred ones, and trims the rest.
- The crown goes to your actual best run now — beat your record and it moves.
- Fairer runs: no phantom hit resuming over a pit or a zap gate, the hurdle catches your whole jump, and your shades quit floating in front of blocks.
- A little more character: your runner leans into the turns now.
1.0 The first run Jul 13, 2026
- Gurn launches: a runner you play with your face. Open your mouth to jump, tilt your head to change lanes, tuck your chin to duck, puff your cheeks to float — all read live by the front camera.
- Every run is filmed and auto-trimmed into a shareable split-screen clip — your face next to the game, ready to post in one tap.
- Your voice is in the clip. Pop in your AirPods (or plug in a mic) and your commentary — the gasps, the bargaining, the small scream at the end — becomes the clip's soundtrack. Settings → Voice in Clips if you'd rather not.
- A daily challenge everyone runs on the same seed, honest leaderboards, achievements with badges that pop the moment you earn them, and a full touch-control mode with its own boards.
- A shop, if you like a mess: earn outfits, trails, and finales with coins — or set the world on fire with the Fire Trail (the roadside catches), Lasers (Blue, Green, Red — they bounce, they torch), and Kaboom (go out in a fireball that detonates the scenery).
- Death with dignity, optional: Grand Finale rains fireworks; Ascension floats your little soul away.
- A deadpan voice that calls your runs like nobody asked. Everything in the shop is cosmetic — it changes how your clips look, never your score.
